Eytan Nisinzweig

Communication Specialist

Eytan Nisinzweig is 39 years old and lives in Greenwich, CT.  Eytan started using supported typing at the age of 32 and his life opened up in a huge way.  One of the many inspiring things that Eytan has typed is "The reality of my life is that I need help to be in the world, but I don't need help to think."  Eytan has many gifts that have made his life very fulfilling.  One is the gift of music. His t-shirt in this photo says it all -    Music is the language of the soul.  Eytan has ease around the piano in a way that he does not have with speech - he has perfect pitch and can transpose a song into any key instantly and can play any song he knows in his head without even looking at the keyboard.  The piano is his comfort zone!  He is hired to lead sing alongs for the preschool classrooms in our town and gets hired for other gigs as well.  Eytan also loves to draw pictures and he has made drawings that have been printed on t-shirts, mugs, notecards, posters, etc.  you can see his drawings at his online storefront at    https://www.redbubble.com/people/eytanart/shop.  Since Eytan started to type he has also become a teacher to those learning about supported typing at home and in his community.  He attends trainings for staff and parents, held at the STeP program at Abilis, to demonstrate typing and answer the questions of the people taking the course.  He has inspired many and will undoubtedly continue to do so!
